And have been busy busy basking in our fame/glory at our Parade homes.

Saving Splendidly - Felt flower ottoman

So when we were working on my cousin's nursery, I loved the idea of using the Lana Wool Ottoman with her rocker/glider. I had seen it floating around the blogosphere and pinterest and thought it was adorable.

After a little bit of research though... I found out it was $552. Eek!
In the end we went with the ottoman that coordinated with the glider and was a bit more functional.

However, I still thought it was great. Just quite a bit over-priced.

Fast forward a few months, and ta-da! A worthy alternative that has a better bang for the buck.
You can find the Lana Wool Ottoman here.
And the Target ottoman here.

Parade of Homes - Opening this Friday

It's finally here! The Utah Valley Parade of Homes opens this Friday, June 8th and runs through Saturday, June 23rd. The last few weeks have been prettyyy crazy furnishing and decorating the two houses that Four Chairs Furniture has designed. Here's a quick little preview of each home's exterior. If you are in the area, I'd love to see you stop by! I'll be at one of the two houses at any given time really. Ticket information can be found here. Or, if you stop by our store, you can receive a free ticket with any $50 purchase. Excited to share more pictures of the interiors soon!

Outdoor bulb lighting

For years I've had an affinity for bulb string lights.
{But especially since using them here.}

Bulb lights are a no-brainer for outdoor parties and big events, but I love the look of them casually displayed in a backyard all summer long. They are just so quaint and take me to somewhere that's a cross between little European cafes and California boardwalks. I'm definitely an outdoor person and am really looking forward to our own back deck to enjoy family BBQs as well as quiet nights reading under some string lighting that we surround our backyard with all summer long.

For my wedding, we definitely scored with half priced bulb lights at Target's day after Christmas sale. If I remember correctly, I think we found them for about $7 a strand.

These look really similar at $12.99 per 25 ft strand, but waiting for after-Christmas sales would certainly be ideal.

I also stumbled upon this style from Ballard Designs.

I love the vintage feel they give off! At $99 for a 50 ft strand though, they doesn't exactly compete with the Target price... but sure do look rad.

That Living Room in my Head

There are a few samples that I keep finding myself being drawn to in the store lately.
I have been in love with this rug ever since we got the swatch in.
And have been dying over it with this gray (almost metallic) fabric and would love to put it on the Brooke sofa we carry.

{Sidenote - the Brooke is crazy comfy. Like amazing. Would be so cozy next to the fireplace and board and batten walls in my mental living room.}

I am leaning towards a geometric print on the chairs. This one seems like it could do the trick.
So. Now all I need is my husband to finish his last few online classes, get a fabulous job, and then we can buy a house to put all these pretty fabrics and rugs in. No big deal.

Model Home on a Budget

This week we had a furniture and accessory install at a model home in Herriman, UT.
I think we did pretty well considering the itty bitty budget we were working with.

(Still waiting on a tv for the console...)

For laminate... I think the master bath still turned out great.

My favorite! The wallpapered office nook!
